It is good to bring along a Dust Cover with your CarryMe, so that when ever you are stopped by an MRT officer or a bus driver, you can just cover it.
Light weight, easy to carry and fast to cover your bike with it!

What type of material is this made of? It looks like it could either be nylon or plastic (like thick "garbage bag")? Is it durable (to slide my Carryme under desk at work on carpet floor)

Here's my idea for an inexpensive Carryme cover, made from an old jacket, that stores under the seat.
After folding the bike, just unzip the two velcro straps (shown in yellow), let the cover drop down, swing the sides around the bike and zip it up the front like a jacket.
Fast and easy!
This would be permanently attached to the seat rails (like an underseat bike bag) so it's always available.
Roll it up and secure with velcro straps when not it use.
Cover could be made from an old Denim or Nylon jacket or windbreaker leaving the front zipper intact.
(The sleeves would have to be removed and the back of the jacket will have to be altered and narrowed to fit the Carryme)

Stored position (rolled up under seat):

Unzip velcro straps and let the cover drop

Cover fully dropped

Opening the sides

Fully opened

Wrap around and zip up

Reverse procedures to close and store.
I'm going to have one sewn up for my Carryme. Tell me what you think

Hey Jaynh. That really looks good.

It may looks good in demin but the cover probably won't be able to pack into a tight package under the seat. Even the thinnest demin are still relatively thick.

One more thing to consider is that part of the cover will probably be stained with grease as it comes into contact with the chain.

Just curious, is the cover going to be tight fit, loose fit or simply just loose like the original silver dust cover? This will going to affect your cutting plus where the velcro going to be.

For me, I might consider using stockings. Simply stretch it over the folded Carryme. Replace with a new one if it is stretched or dirty. This way I will have a constant change of colours and pattern. Tongue

PS. Just ignore what I said and carry on to sew up your first unique cover that no one will have.

Hi coolthought, thanks for your thought's on this idea!
It would be snug fit.
I have an old nylon windbreaker jacket (single layer, no lining) which is relatively thin and lightweight but pretty durable. When rolled up, the complete uncut jacket with sleeves is still smaller than the first illustration.
Staining with grease is not a problem since the dirty side will be rolled inside, and I can always take off bike and handwash at home. I'd rather have the grease on the inside of cover than on office/home carpet.
For me, stockings would be way too tight and would snag on parts making it difficult putting on and off, plus it wouldn't look too good on a guy's bike!!!
I looked into getting the dust-cover, but it looks too loose, still have to store it somewhere when off the bike, plus I don't like the bright silver color.
Purpose of this is to transport Carryme onto Metro and into my office building in stealth mode, with quick cover-up.
Anyone feel free to make your own if you want. Now to figure out best way to alter windbreaker jacket!!!

no stockings - too easy to tear, coolthought, I thought spandex will be your first choice for material?

hi Jaynh, wondering if you've made the cover for CM using yr old raincoat?

I'm recently brought a CM and looking for a carrier/cover.

Have any member found other compatible carrier for CM? or planning to sell off their black carrier bag?

Thanks.
