Hi Folks

Thought it would be great to have you register, and introduce yourself as a proud owner of a Strida or Stridas in this forum. Say a few words, of your experience and how you have loved your new life transporter.

Yes I got mine today ! Weeeeeee ! A white one, but yet to have it go on the road as yet.

Will be "touring" the Western part of Singapore to see how the Strida takes to the road : )

So here goes -

1. Maclife on a Strida White, and I have named it Mac : )

Hi

Ok...I will bite!

I got my Strida today as well in the evening. Mine is brush silver. I bought some accessories to go with the bike as well - a small pouch, bell, front and rear lights.

I cycled from the Strida shop to my home in Balestier after the purchase. After dinner I took the bike for a ride along the Whampoa Park Connector. I like the feel of the bike though there were some rattling noises coming from the front whenever I rode on something rough - still trying to figure out where they come from. Anyone has any idea? Apart from this I am quite happy with the bike.

Minkhunk here (the nick sounds like my Chinese Name lah, my ex gf gave this name to me so hahaha), Brush Silver. Has the bar mirror, pouch, Computer (no backlite  Undecided), front and rear lights, and a nice Prowell helmet. Cycles to school at SMU every day, and along Orchard Road especially, or Bukit Timah on my way back home.

Got my Strida a couple of weeks back after seeing StridaSingapore and Baru at a bazaar in my school, fell in love with the bike at first sight man... Since then, have introduced at least 2 people to where to get the bike, and gave the name card of the shop to 1 fella today at PS Carls' Junior when I was grabbing dinner for my friends in school (with the bike in my hands of cos!) Got many stares, talked to at least 10 strangers so far, and love folding/unfolding it in public. Haha!  Cool Cool Cool

Most importantly, I like this bike cos it doesn't go too fast nor too slowly. I can ride it at 25kmph constantly and feel a good workout for at least 15 min on my way home every nite, and to school I take it leisurely at 20kmph, which is good for a wake-up sweat! Am waiting for my break to start so that I can ride alllll the way to visit my girl at Bukit Batok, can't wait to try the Park Connector between Buena Vista and Bukit Batok and beyond! Hah!!

Anyways, do post pics of you guys on the bike and all! And if you have seen any new stuff to 'zhng' the bike, let me know where to get them too man!!

Wink I am Baru and own a Ferrari Red Strida.  I got my Strida last year and have been riding it for weekend cycling at East Coast, weekday cycling to the Esplanade and Funan Centre and CNY visits.  I have the front and rear lights, the cyclocomputer, the FABULOUS get seat, the bike pouch (I have put a chilli sauce bottle in it before!), my German-made bell (small but powerful), emergency bike pump and of course my tyre patch and levers (all thrown into my bottomless pit of a pouch).

Met Minkhunk and his girlfriend at a SMU roadshow and I am glad you are enjoying your ride a lot, Minkhunk! When you are on your break, can you
take pictures of your ride to Bukit Batok? Havent been that area and want to know how via the park connector?

MacLife and Leong, we believe you will grow to love the Strida soon. Oldies on Foldies, I thought the Perth pictures were really scenic. For those not in the know, Oldies on Foldies is the travelling 'ambassador', his white Strida has been to many scenic places and 'tasted' lots of yummy food!

Hi New and Old Stridians,

I had got my brush silver Strida just before this CNY. I was introduced to Strida at SMU roadshow. This is my first folding bike. I am using it to commute to my office at least 2 to 3 days a week. I posted my route to the office yesterday as well.

Cheers

Smiley Pooommm I love your emotional 'poem' on the 'departure" of your beloved Rida 3.

Can you show us some pictures of your new love in your life - the Strida MK1?  For those who do not know what the very first Strida Version 1 look like, it will be an eye opener! I am sure Strida MK1 will be a great love too.

Please click http://stridasingapore.com/forum/index.php?board=13.0 to have a look at Poommm's MK1.

Actually, i m quite a 'rough' rider.  The screw 4 d magnet is kind of drop off along d way due to the terrain.  I stay @ Upper Boon Keng and my office is in Centennial Tower (Millenia Walk).  I will ride thru Geylang Lor 1 and turn rite @ Geylang Road.  On tis road, i will use pedestrian walk as much as possible due to heavy traffic and heavy vehicle for KPE contruction.

Rite after Kallang River, i will ride turn into Kallang River Park and continue to Marina Promenade.  D road in the park is very bumpy due to interconnecting brick.  If ur tyre is low on air, u will need to more effort.  However, wif more air, the ride will be more bumpy.  Once i reach the shear bridge overpass (overlooking Tanjung Rhu Condo), i will turn rite via gravel road into Raffles Boulevard.

I will cycle on pedestrian path on Raffles Boulevard & turn rite @ traffic lite junction toward Millenia Walk.  I cycle almost everyday thati i might hav to change my tire n next few mths.  By the way, i juz wear my usual working attire & cycle.  It is breezy in the morning when u cycle thru the park.

hey david,

i love the park connector starting from the old public gas works there leading all the way to the esplanade. are we talking about the same one?

anyway, can you tell me which "screw" did you drop off? is it the one you turn to controlling the magnetic strength? can show me a pic here?

wanna know just for you safety's sake. if it the same screw i mentioned above, then it is ok.  Wink

It is the same route that u mention except i start from old courts/furniture mall.  In morning, d air is cool.  So i could cycle @ higher speed without perspiring.

On d screw 4 magnet, it is tis little screw which control d strength of the magnet.  I juz need 2 b more careful when i push d bike now.

Hi, my handle is awcute.
I have the bright yellow strida. I guess having lived in toa payoh for 6 years and travelling by MRT daily, the yellow colour kind of rub on me (Toa Payoh MRT station colour is bright yellow).

Accessories: helmet, backpack, mud guard, blinky red rear light, blinky bright front light, bell, and sometimes a micro tripod (with velcro).
I will probably make a pouch, having seen one on the net but none sold here yet... or at least I dunno.

Shocked for a moment I thought you ask something that is quite personal I am not ready to discuss in forums yet...

Tongue Hahahahahahahahahahaha...
OK OK, just being cheeky for once.

I learn to ride a bike in primary school, P3 I think.  Smiley

Then in my 2nd yr of senior high (Indonesian education system - 6 yrs Pri, 3 yrs Jr Hi., 3 yr Snr Hi) i switched to 110 cc motorbike. I have 3 accidents and I got grounded (my mum get my dad to sell the bike). I am save, just scratches here and there having protective jacket and trashed 2 helmets. Tongue
Yeah, going 100 km/hr top speed is quite scary. I was less wise back then.

Then I learn to rollerblade on my own (no teacher) when I was in Australia. I think that was in 1993. (so you see I am not that young) Tongue

Then last year I went to big boyz toys and saw some nice yellow wheelies... and thought... I gotta have one of this cool device. So I bought it. I went to office a few time with that and some of my colleagues expresses some interest. The only barrier for them is coughing the $$$, so... thinking about the safety of my bike, I ride them to office less, just in case...  Wink

hi hi

Can't remember exactly when I learned to cycle but i'm able to remember exactly what happen and how I managed to learn to cycle without any training wheels. It was a bright day. An empty basketball court by the river. I was on my friend's bicycle. He and his sister were trying to help me learn how to balance. Feeling of freedom and wind in my face for the first time. Nearly hit a lamp post before coming to a stop. Forever instinctively learned how to balance on a moving 2 wheeler.  Grin

First owned bicycle was a blue BMX bought using cash from working temporary at a factory during school holiday.

Just pick up cycling again to burn fat and increase fitness level.
