Hi everyone
Just got my first pair of 8" wheels on Friday.
Nice to "see" everyone here.
No Camo colours on the bike though. It has a dark green colour frame but at a certain angle, it looks like black. So I just call it black green bike. (aka Orh Cair (hokkien)) I was kind of hoping that it is black blue instead. (kind of like the BMW colours) (aka Orh Cee (hokkien))

Anyway, its image and the joy of riding such small wheels keep appearing in my mind (maybe even in my dream as well... it is just that I kept forgetting my dreams when I woke up) after I've have seen and rode it. Finally, I've decided that I must get it out and make it a reality. The final nail to shut the coffin....err.... to make up my mind is when one of the convert swear by this bike as his best commuting bicycle so far. Able to "leap" onto the SBS bus seat in a "single bound" and pass the "devil" SMRT station master with stealth (maybe it just looks like a baby stroller?). With a footprint of 10.6" by 6.3", it easily squeezes between my legs in a tight quarter form by my long legs and the narrow space between the seats (of the bus).

The extra pair of teeny wheels are really handy, not only it can help to act as a stand in a folded state, it also help in wheeling it along in a folded state, though a little bit unbalance. Maybe its just me. My hands sometimes are not really calibrated....err balanced that I just tends to lift up the whole bike instead of wheeling it along nicely. It sure feel like my dumbbell. Weighing at 8.15kg, it is something that I think most of us should be able to manage nicely. I might even get to do some biceps curls while waiting for my bus or MRT train to come. A clever technique taught by a fellow convert is that another good way of holding it in a folded state is by carrying it at the head tube. (check this site if you like to know what is a head tube http://foldingbikestory.com/CarryMe%20Standard.html) Just like the handle on the dumbbell. Hmmm.... a machine that will exercise both the lower body and as well as the upper body... time to throw out the gym membership card??

The only regret I have after I left the shop with the purchase is that I should have grab a stack of name cards from Steven and stick them onto the bike with the words, "please take one if you are interested". A nice local Indian gentleman enquire about the bike when he saw it. .... "Can I lift your bike to see how heavy (or light) it is". Sure... no problem... but wait.... it is not every other day that one should be letting someone else lift his "wife" when they taken a fancy of "her"... Anyway, I just oblige and even slowly unfold "her" to show him the most interesting part of her. His eyes just grew with astonishment. When I'm done, I have even let him sat on "her" and maybe even contemplate of letting him ride her. Am I being too obliging? But he is such a gentleman that just by admiring her satisfy him. A "cool...nice bike" response from him just make my day.

(PS it will be greatly appreciated if anyone who saw me on Friday... should just.... saw me. Keeping mom is a virtue that is greatly treasured.)

These are animated gifs that are existing somewhere on the world wide web.
Then next step is click on the insert image icon above when you are typing a new posting and you will get these. [ img][ /img]

Then insert the website address link to the gif file inbetween them like this
[ img]http://www.a_website_in_existence.com/include_all_the_directories/to_the_gif_file/your_desired_animated.gif[ /img]

Final step, I wish you good luck , all the best and happy posting.

Hello everyone, I've just got my Carry-Me today. It's dark green in colour.
I managed to go for a short ride around the park a while ago, and it is kind of fun!

The bike is very smooth when coasting along, but when paddling there is a slight "grrr--grrr" sound....is this normal? It this because the gear has not broken-in yet?
Will changing to the suspension seat post improve the ride comfort? Any idea what is the cost?
Thanks for the reply in advance!!
seat replacement is about $40-50.

Hi Hi Eekee welcome
First, you might want to read about comfortable saddles from sheldon brown
Which you should know that having a soft seat is not ok for a long comfortable ride. Another important thing, seat comfort will also depend on the frame and weight of a person and as well as usage of the saddle.
And you might want to find out more about saddle at here and a special type of saddle at here and as well as another topic in this forum at here.

Don't think there is such a thing as "broken-in" for a bicycle. You might want to recheck again exactly where the sound comes from.
Changing seat post result in more comfortable ride... hard to say. Again. it depend on your height, weight and prefer way of riding. The best way is ask if you can test out to see if it is really comfortable.

I think you can cycle with coolthought side by side because both of you have dark green carry me. and then he can say "oh boy, oh boy.." along the ride and that will replace the "grrr... grrr" sound?

AH HA.... Did you remove all the plastic wrapping on the bike? It could be rubbing on something when you are riding.

I don't know about coolthought but if there is any beginner cyclist who likes to cycle beside me.... First you will hear lots of "whip whip" sound. You will feel a short sharp shearing pain followed by any mistakes or any below expectation performance..... And you will find that your riding skills will improve by "leaps and bounds" literary.
Any takers?? Come Come...
