Looking to upgrade my wheels, but using same drum hub on wire wheels of 3.0 series. Anyone out there who can direct me to a supplier for such a rim ? I believe its alex DV15 18" 24H in silver or blk.
looked everywhere in the states, no one supplies them.
Thanks for looking and your feedback.

Based in San Francisco  purchased from a craigslister and restored to it's full glory. Older 3.0 with wire wheels but without the small belt roller retainer. I would really like to find these rims and thread them to my existing hubs on 16' wheels. Any help would be great.

Hi Arstein,

Try http://www.rideforfun.com.tw/ or email: info@rideforfun.com.tw

They carry 18" complete wheelset for Strida 5.X Series.

Located in Taiwan and does domestic mail order. You will have to check with them if they ship internationally.

Cheers!

Cant go that route since I own a 3.0 series which uses a drum brake rather then a disc as the 5.0.
But thanks for the reply.

Info may be tough, as many members here, including myself are geographically located in Singapore, and we simply go to the distributor here.
May be you try get from distributor or retailer in SF?
Have you checked with them?

Yes, I tried all the distributors in the states and they said to try overseas. It seems that this rim size is normal for birdy's brompton's and some other folders that are popular in Asia and Europe  but not so popular in the USA.

aw shucks man.

Since whole wheel is hard to get, may be you can re-use the original hub since that is special and then replace the rims and spokes.
You can check if local bike shop has it for kid's bike (small wheel) and you can canibalise the rims & spokes for parts.

All the best!

Honestly, none of us here has gone that route, i.e. to thread Strida 3.x hub to 18" wheel.  That's why the reply seems nonsensical.  It would be a good idea to write to Alex Rim directly & check which of their dealers carry that particular wheel.

Actually I was looking for the possibility to purchase this rim in singapore. It seems there are more strida and brompton riders in Korea. and I was able to obtain a good source of information from their group. Thanks for the replies.
