As many in this forum may remember from a previous post in 2008, popular HK TV actress, Bernice Liu had visited Diginexx showroom to buy a Birdy Adventure (9 Speed).

Last Saturday, after hours, we received an unexpected call from an unassuming man, asking if he could visit our showroom at 11 pm that night.

We explained we were already closed.  He sounded anxious and asked if there was another way in which he could get hold of a red Birdy Commuting 8 Speed that Saturday night (13 March).

When asked why he could only come to the showroom at 11 pm, he said he had an event to attend.

Still clueless but as we wanted to try to help this man as best as we could, we decided to think of ways to meet his unusual midnight request.

Then, when asked for his name, he casually introduced himself as Moses.

Somehow we decided to ask if he was Moses Chan from HK?  And he said, "Yes!"

We had earlier received emails from Bernice during the same day regarding a red Birdy Commuting bike.  She already has 3 Birdy folding bikes, one Titanium, one Birdy Classic  and Birdy Monocoque Adventure.

We put two and two together and realised Moses was getting the Birdy for Bernice, our Birdy rider.   Bernice has two Birdy Monocoques from Diginexx.

So we racked our brains to see how we could best accommodate Moses' request.  But we were travelling overseas the next morning and hadn't packed our luggage yet!

Only after 15 minutes of serious discussion on the phone, it was decided that with our good friend's kind help in driving us there, we would lug the Birdy box to his hotel lobby (we don't do deliveries!)

At the hotel, the security staff weren't exactly polite towards us and they tried a few times to get us out of the hotel.  Still we insisted and 'loitered' in the hotel lobby for one hour, during which I made a 'pleading' call to Moses to say we were almost chased out as the security detail thought we were a few overaged fans who tried to give a very bizzare excuse of 'delivering' a bicycle to Moses Chan Ho, a guest at their hotel.   As we refused to budge, the staff had no choice but to warn us to be 'orderly'!

At midnight, we could only be 'orderly' as it was near our bedtime and our batteries were getting low and it was freezing at the lobby!

15 mins into Sunday morning, we heard loud screams outside the hotel lobby (we had already a few false starts for one hour before, when many other famous singers and bands strolled into the hotel lobby!) and finally we sighed in relief when Moses walked into the hotel with his minders.

He was profusely apologetic and very well-mannered.

We managed to take a 'groupie' photo with him while the Birdy box remained outside at the valet's counter, kept away from the screaming crowds! Check out our pic at www.diginexx.com

Who would have guessed selling a bike would be this exciting???
