I'm planning on buying the 18'' model without mudguards and I was wondering how is the water splash in rainy weather? Smaller / larger than on bigger wheels?

Thanks!

Mud behind your back (t-shirt) is the function of the rpm (# of spin within some time unit) and the water quality (clean water or not).
The faster you cycle (distance covered within some time unit) the higher the rpm of the wheel.

So if you dont want interesting mud pattern on your shirt, during rain ... then walk - don't cycle if you dont have mudguard. Or cycle very slowly.

There is a good reason why the name is mudguard Smiley

Thank you for taking the time and answering!

I like the appeal of bigger speed on the 18'' wheels, but I'm not sure how the mudguards would fit.

http://www.strida.us/Tips-from-Mark.pdf

go to the last page, that will show you how to install the regular mudguards to it.
