Grin Ever tried getting your breakfast or dinner at your nearby kopitiam with your Strida?

I did many times.  The kopi kia will stop cleaning tables to ask the price.  Uncles drinking their morning coffee or evening beer will stop talking and turn their heads when you deftly fold the Strida. I say deftly cos if you fumble, the "show-off" effect is lost! Then after you get your food, you startle the customers again by expertly unfolding the Strida. Shocked

Have you had total strangers come to you at kopitiams, cafes, on buses, in the MRT and bookstores etc to talk to you about the Strida? What do they usually ask?  I have been stopped by aunties, uncles, young couples, and hollered at when riding (and thinking I langga them!).

 Cheesy  Ah Chucky

You can "show off" just at the outside of the kopi tiam where the regular groups of ah peks congregate.  They will stop talking until you trolley your bike in. We have been bringing our Stridas into shopping centres and security guards can't quite decide if it is a pram or a bike, so they will leave us alone. Sometimes, we will lock our Stridas on a busy overhead bridge if it is connected to a shopping centre, for eg, Funan Centre. And park it where it is very visible to traffic.  Wink

I have brought my strida to OCBC branch and Citibank branch to use the ATM but that is when they are closed. I dont want the cisco guard to ask me to leave the bike outside. Tongue

Tried the MayBank branch along Lavender Street before and everybody in the branch gave me a friendly smile. Grin
